Shiny Wall was born in Catalonia in 2021 with one idea: to build the best interactive wall we could have at home. We started developing it, improved on what already existed and, almost without meaning to, it turned into a business.
We build it all ourselves: we design the hardware and the holds, develop the app, manufacture the holds with the best European partners and support you through the whole process. Behind every wall there's a community of climbers creating and sharing problems. All of it designed to make setting up, climbing and sharing simple.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need building work or a special space?
It depends on the product. Custom and Lite work perfectly on your existing wall with no building work (you'd only need to drill a hole for each LED). Standard and Standard Max need a space that fits their dimensions. Lasso works with the app alone, without touching anything. If you're unsure, get in touch and we'll help you work out what fits best.
Is it only for gyms, or for my home too?
All our products work for climbing gyms and for homes alike. At home, Lite and Lasso are the perfect way in (and Standard if you have the space). Standard, Standard Max and Custom turn your wall into a smart climbing wall you control from your phone. Whatever your case, there's a Shiny for you.
How do I know which wall fits me best?
It depends on your space, your budget, whether you're starting from scratch or already have a wall, and who's going to climb on it. Broadly: a full climbing board → Standard/Standard Max, or a bespoke Custom; already have a wall → Lite (LED) or Lasso (app only). Tell us and we'll recommend the best option, no strings attached.
Can I light up the holds on my existing wall?
Yes. With Lite we add an LED system: one point of light for each of your holds, plus the electronics that control them. You just drill a hole in the panel for each LED (usually below the hold) and every hold on your wall lights up: a light up climbing wall, as many people call it, whatever brand your holds are. And if you'd rather start without hardware, with Lasso you digitise your wall using the app alone — the same idea as a spray wall, but with the problems on your phone.
How long will it take to arrive?
Systems that include holds (the Standard range and Custom) are delivered in less than 3 months from the first payment. Those without holds, in around 2 weeks.
What warranty does the system come with?
All our products come with a 3-year warranty. If a hold or an electronic component is faulty, we guarantee a quick solution.
